Bringing Mandarin Chinese, Culture, and Community to the Eastern Shore
At Eastern Shore Chinese Academy, our mission is to introduce and preserve the Chinese language and culture throughout Maryland's Eastern Shore. We believe language is a bridge that connects people, cultures, and generations. Through engaging Mandarin instruction and cultural education, we strive to create opportunities for children, adults, beginners, and advanced learners to explore one of the world's most influential languages and traditions.
About Linda Cruse
Linda Cruse is the founder and instructor of Eastern Shore Chinese Academy. A native Chinese speaker from Singapore, Linda has spent more than 60 years speaking, reading, and writing Chinese. Her lifelong connection to the language and culture has inspired her passion for teaching and sharing that knowledge with others.
After settling on Kent Island, Maryland, Linda recognized that there were very few opportunities for local residents to learn Mandarin Chinese. Determined to fill that gap, she founded Eastern Shore Chinese Academy to bring Mandarin language instruction and Chinese cultural appreciation to Maryland's Eastern Shore.
Linda welcomes students of all ages and experience levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners. Her teaching approach emphasizes practical language skills, cultural understanding, and creating a supportive environment where every student can succeed.
Through Eastern Shore Chinese Academy, Linda hopes to inspire curiosity, foster cross-cultural connections, and help preserve and celebrate the rich traditions of Chinese heritage for future generations.
